“I 100% have not confirmed a return.”
Jacqueline Jossa has denied that she is on her way back to EastEnders.
The I’m a Celebrity star recently reprised her EastEnders character Lauren Branning for the show’s send-off to June Brown, with the warm reception to her appearance spurring rumours of a full-time comeback.
On Tuesday (January 3), Jossa posted a series of statements on her Instagram Story to deny that there’s anything concrete about returning to the BBC One soap.
“Just been inundated with people being lovely, but thinking I’m coming back to Eastenders full time, I don’t know if something has been taken out of an interview or been completely made up but either way I’m just shutting down any rumours or stories,” she wrote.
“I am not on the way back to the square full time, it’s not in talks, I 100 per cent have not confirmed a return. That’s also not me saying I would never go back. When and if the time is right, I would love to. Hope you’re all okay.
“Like I have said many times and continue to say, EastEnders is the best job ever and was an honour for the eight years. As of right now, I am not going back. Thanks so much for all the excited DMs [direct messages] and phone calls and texts. Sorry!”
Jossa’s recent return to the show saw her reuniting with family member Sonia Fowler, as well as confronting Linda Carter over her affair with Max Branning a few years ago.
The actress originally played Lauren from 2010 to 2018, taking over from the original Lauren actress Madeline Duggan.
