Elderly Man Left Fighting for Life After Brutal Station Attack

Ferocious Assault Caught on CCTV

A 28-year-old thug, Zepheniah Dufeal, unleashed a savage, unprovoked attack on an elderly man at a UK railway station. Without warning, Dufeal struck the victim with such force that the man collapsed, suffering life-threatening injuries.

After the vicious blow, Dufeal casually walked away, leaving the injured pensioner helpless on the floor. It was another passenger who found the man and alerted station staff, who quickly called emergency services.

Severe Injuries and Race Against Time

The victim suffered a terrifying array of injuries:

  • Brain bleed
  • Fractured skull
  • Broken ribs
  • Collapsed lung

He was rushed to hospital and placed in intensive care. Miraculously, he survived, but the long road to recovery lies ahead.

Quick Arrest After CCTV Identification

British Transport Police obtained CCTV footage showing the entire brutal attack. Officers circulated images, and a sharp-eyed officer recognised Dufeal.

The suspect was arrested the very next day at his home—just a street away from the station.

Police Slam Violence and Urge Public Vigilance

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell said: “This was an exceptionally violent and unnecessary attack on an elderly man. Dufeal’s brutality is shocking, and it’s only luck the victim survived. I hope this conviction brings some comfort to the victim and his family.”

He added: “Violence of any kind is never tolerated on the rail network. We work hard to bring offenders like this to justice. If you witness crimes, please text 61016 or call 999 in an emergency.”

Ongoing Fight to Protect Rail Passengers

The conviction of Zepheniah Dufeal shines a spotlight on the British Transport Police’s relentless efforts to crack down on serious violence and protect vulnerable travellers. Public help and CCTV evidence proved crucial in bringing justice.
