Drug Dealer Jailed After Massive Cocaine Bust in Runcorn Flat

Ricky Hope’s flat on Cooper Street was smashed by cops on October 14, uncovering a major cocaine operation. The 29-year-old was caught red-handed with a stash worth up to £13,810 in street value.

Hydraulic Presses and £7,000 Cash Seized

Officers found a huge haul of cocaine neatly packaged into street deals, plus two hydraulic presses used to make the drug appear purer. Digital scales, mixing bowls, spoons, and even a blender full of cocaine were seized. Phones and about £7,000 cash were also taken from the flat.

Hope was arrested at the scene and later charged with possession with intent to supply a class A drug. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in Chester Crown Court on January 11.

Police Praise Teamwork and Warn Dealers

Detective Constable Adam Murdoch from Runcorn Local Policing Unit said: “The intelligence-led raid showed this flat was a hub for class A drug dealing. A safe hidden in the property held most of the cocaine and cash, which firefighters had to cut open.”

“We intercepted the drugs before they could hit our streets. Ricky Hope had no choice but to plead guilty, and he’s now behind bars facing the consequences.”

“Removing dealers from our communities is crucial. Drug dealing in Runcorn or anywhere in Cheshire will not be tolerated. We hope this conviction sends a strong warning to others.”

David Keane, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner, added: “Thanks to the relentless work of officers, another drug dealer and a large cache of illegal drugs have been taken off our streets. Drugs devastate individuals and communities alike. We will keep fighting this scourge.”

Police Urge Public to Report Drug Activity

DC Murdoch reiterated the importance of community support: “This case is closed, but our fight continues. If you spot suspicious drug activity, please come forward. Your information will be taken seriously and investigated.”
