Jacqueline Jossa Slams Rumours of EastEnders Comeback
Jacqueline Jossa has slammed rumours she’s returning to EastEnders full time. The I’m a Celebrity star took to Instagram to shut down claims sparked after her recent cameo in the BBC One soap’s tribute episode to June Brown.
“I 100% Have Not Confirmed a Return”
Jossa posted a series of Instagram Stories on January 3 to clear the air. “Just been inundated with people being lovely, but thinking I’m coming back to EastEnders full time,” she wrote. “I don’t know if something’s been taken out of an interview or completely made up but either way, I’m shutting down any rumours.”
“I am not on the way back to the Square full time, it’s not in talks, I 100% have not confirmed a return. That’s not me saying I’d never go back. When and if the time is right, I would love to.”
She added: “EastEnders was the best job ever and an honour for eight years. Right now, I’m not going back. Thanks for all the excited DMs, phone calls and texts. Sorry!”
Quick Return to Walford Stoked Speculation
Jossa reprised her role as Lauren Branning recently to help say goodbye to June Brown (Dot Cotton). The episode featured memorable scenes with Sonia Fowler and a confrontation over Linda Carter’s affair with Max Branning.
Jacqueline originally played Lauren from 2010 to 2018, taking over from Madeline Duggan, and fans quickly hoped her short return was the start of something bigger.
For now, though, it’s clear Jacqueline has no plans for a full-time Walford comeback.
