Blaze Hits Edmonton Car Dealership Flats
Late Friday night, six fire engines and around 40 firefighters raced to a car dealership on Hertford Street, Edmonton, after a fire broke out in the flats above.
Fire Rips Through First Floor Flats
The blaze gutted part of the first floor in the two-story flats situated above the dealership. Luckily, one woman and one man managed to escape before the fire brigade arrived.
Smoke Inhalation Victims Treated on Scene
Both evacuees were given immediate medical attention by the London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation. The fire service was called at 10:43 pm and had the blaze under control by 12:10 am.
Crews from Edmonton, Enfield, Tottenham, and Chingford worked together to tackle the flames.
Faulty Wiring Blamed for Fire
Investigations suggest the fire was caused by an electrical fault in the fixed installation wiring, sparking the dangerous blaze.
