Orpington and Sevenoaks hit by brazen break-ins and violent robbery spree

Phones and gadgets stolen in daring early morning raids

Three suspects are accused of smashing into two phone shops in Orpington and Sevenoaks High Street during the early hours of January 27, 2023. The thieves made off with a haul of mobile phones, tablets, and other tech gear from both stores.

Fast food worker attacked in violent cash grab

Later that same day, shortly before midnight, two individuals burst into a fast food restaurant on Otford Road. A staff member was savagely attacked with a crowbar and hammer. After the assault, the attackers fled with cash. The injured victim was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Suspect held and charged following violent spree

Jack Lockwood, 32, of North Downs Crescent, New Addington, was arrested on February 16. Police charged him with robbery, intent to cause grievous bodily harm, carrying an offensive weapon in public, and planning the January phone shop burglaries.

Lockwood appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on February 17 and was remanded in custody. He is due back at Maidstone Crown Court on March 17 for a hearing.
