Stabbing sparks police hunt

Kent Police rushed to Milton Road at 5.20am on Sunday, February 19, after reports of a violent fight involving a group of men. During the clash, one man was stabbed in the chest and is now in a stable condition at a London hospital.

Five arrested, four charged

Officers launched a search that led to the arrest of five men linked to the sordid scene. Four of them have now been charged:

  • Alan Ali, 30, of Milton Road – charged with grievous bodily harm without intent, violent disorder, and possession of a bladed weapon in public.
  • Mazin Rasuli, 23, of Wellington Street – charged with violent disorder and carrying an offensive weapon.
  • Zhinar Ali, 22, of Peacock Street – charged with violent disorder.
  • Shakwahan Mahmood, 32, of Parrock Street – charged with carrying an offensive weapon.

They are all due to face Medway Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 20 February.

Suspicious car fire linked to violence

Earlier at around 2.20am, a car was set ablaze in Parrock Street. Investigators believe the fire could be connected to the violent outbreak hours later. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

Additional suspect bailed amid probe

A 23-year-old man from Brighton, also arrested in connection with the brawl, has been released on bail until May 9 as inquiries continue.
