This morning (23rd February) a crime scene was established at the bottom of North Street, Brighton outside of NatWest bank.
Police officers alongside scenes of crime officers (SOCOs) were seen collecting evidence from within the cordon.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said this morning: “At 3.15am on Thursday, February 23, police responded to a report of an assault between a man and woman.
“Officers attended the scene where they located a man with injuries to his face. He was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening or life-changing injuries. The man currently remains in hospital.
“A 32-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody at this time.
Anyone with information which could assist officers with their investigation is asked to report it to police online or call 101 quoting serial number 113 of 23/02.
