Just before 2 a.m. on South Norwood’s High Street, near Portland Road, chaos erupted as a stabbing sent shockwaves through the quiet Croydon neighbourhood.
Victim Rushed to Hospital – Condition Stable
Police and London Ambulance Service paramedics swiftly responded to the scene. A 36-year-old man was rushed to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
Another Man Arrested Amidst Ongoing Investigation
Authorities arrested another 36-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody as detectives probe the incident.
Police Cordon Still in Place
By Saturday, the area around South Norwood High Street and Grosvenor Road was sealed off with a police cordon. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the stabbing took place early on 1 April and reassured the public that the victim’s condition was stable.
“Police were called to High Street, SE25, around 2 am on Saturday, 1 April, after reports of a stabbing. Officers and the London Ambulance Service responded swiftly,” said a Met Police spokesperson.
“A 36-year-old man was transported to hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening. Another 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in custody.”
