Taser Terror in Woking: Man Jailed for 6 Years
A 35-year-old man sparked panic in Woking streets after menacing residents with tasers. Graham Balabanoff was locked up for six years at Guildford Crown Court on Thursday, 30 March.
Armed and Dangerous on Campbell Avenue
On 21 January 2022, Balabanoff rocked up at Campbell Avenue brandishing two tasers. Without warning, he shouted threats about killing strangers while waving the weapons around.
He even fired one taser at a woman, knocking her to the ground. Luckily, she escaped without injury.
Assault on Officer During Arrest
When police arrived after locals called for help, Balabanoff shoved an officer’s jacket into his mouth. As she tried to retrieve it, he bit her fingers.
He was promptly arrested and remanded in custody.
Police Praise Quick Justice After Random Attack
Detective Constable Kerry Plumb said: “This was a terrifying incident for anyone in the area. Balabanoff’s erratic behaviour was unprovoked and random – he threatened whoever he came across on Campbell Avenue. Thankfully this type of attack is very rare and I hope the local community will take some reassurance from the fact that Balabanoff has been sentenced to time in jail.”
