Fire crews called after blaze rips through Tunbridge Wells clubhouse

An investigation  has been launched after  a blaze has ripped through the clubhouse at Tunbridge Wells football club. Fire crews were called late on Thursday evening to  ground. On Culverden Down in Tunbridge Wells. On arrival firefighters from Kent fire and rescue found the club house engulfed in flames. Attempts where made to stop the spread using hose reels and jets. Flames were being fanned by strong winds.

A source has revealed  that caused may be an arson attack at the club. A joint investigation with Kent Fire And Rescue and Kent Police has been launched.

The area remains cordoned off.   The club are understood to be devastated by the blaze. In a short statement the spokesman for the l club said :Tunbridge Wells FC can confirm that there has been a serious fire at the clubhouse on Thursday evening. Thankfully no one was injured. The club would like to thank Kent fire and rescue for all of their efforts.
