Double Murderer Mark Brown Jailed for at Least 49 Years
Mark Brown, 41, has been handed a minimum 49-year prison sentence for the brutal murders of Leah Ware, 33, and Alexandra Morgan, 34, at Little Bridge Farm. His time served on remand (380 days) will be deducted.
Preyed on Vulnerable Women
Brown cunningly gained Leah and Alex’s trust, exploiting their vulnerabilities for his own twisted gain. The judge said the sentence had to “truly reflect the heinous nature of his crimes” and ensure Brown “is not in a position to harm anyone else for the rest of his life.”
How the Tragedy Unfolded
Alex Morgan’s parents reported her missing to Kent Police on 18 November 2021 after she failed to return home. She was last seen heading to meet Brown at Little Bridge Farm near Cranbrook. Brown, of Squirrel Close, claimed Alex died from a slip and fall at the location.
Officers uncovered prescription drugs in Leah’s name. Since her disappearance, there was no trace of Leah using a phone, money, or seeking medical care. Detectives found no evidence she was alive after her last contact, deepening the mystery of her fate.
Detectives Promise Justice and Clarity
“We hope the conviction and sentence of Mark Brown will bring some sense of justice to the families of both Alex and Leah,” said Detective Superintendent Andy Wolstenholme from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team. “Even though the court case is over, we remain committed to following any viable lines of inquiry that may lead us to Leah’s body and provide her family with the answers they desperately deserve.”
