Eastbourne Drug Dealer Locked Up for Over Two Years
A 19-year-old drug dealer from Eastbourne has been sentenced to two years and two months behind bars. Jay Farley was caught dealing Class A and Class B drugs across the town from June 2022 to February 2023, packing the streets with bulk text adverts and arranging deals on mobile phones.
Busted During Undercover Police Sting
Farley’s arrest happened on February 8 during a plainclothes police operation on Susans Road. The bust was part of a larger crackdown under Operation Orochi and Operation Centurion, targeting ‘county lines’ drug networks ravaging Sussex. Officers from Sussex Police, Surrey Police, and the Metropolitan Police joined forces for the sting.
Evidence Ties Farley to Cannabis and Cocaine Supply
Investigators uncovered proof Farley was involved in selling both cocaine and cannabis. Following a probe by Eastbourne CID, he was charged with two counts related to drug supply. At Lewes Crown Court on March 10, Farley admitted guilt and received his sentence.
Police Praise Team Effort to Tackle Drug Trade
“Farley came to our attention through bulk advertising messages. A search of his home found multiple phones linked to his drug dealing,” said Chief Inspector Di Lewis. “This case highlights the partnership between Sussex Police and the Metropolitan Police to tackle county lines. It shows our determination to catch offenders and cut off harmful drugs in Eastbourne’s communities.”
