Teen Hurt in Dramatic Crash with Black Audi on Zebra Crossing

At around 8:30pm on Wednesday, April 5, a 13-year-old boy was involved in a collision with a black Audi A3 at the zebra crossing on Manor Avenue and Ruskin Drive.

Boy Hospitalised but Now Discharged

Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of the smash. The youngster was taken to hospital with a head injury but has since been discharged and is expected to make a full recovery.

Driver Arrested on Suspicion of Drug Driving

A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He has been released under investigation while police continue their enquiries.

PC Matt Leigh of GMP’s Road Policing Unit said: “A boy attended hospital as a result of this collision and we wish him all the best for a full recovery.

“If anyone witnessed this collision or has any dashcam footage please get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
