RCN Nurses Set to Strike Tonight – Chaos Looms for NHS Patients
The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) members will down tools from 8pm tonight, with the strike running right through to Monday night. The Government has slammed the walkout, warning it “risks patient safety.” Meanwhile, NHS England has urged patients to brace for “disruptions and delays” to vital services during the strike.
Emergency Services to Keep Running
Despite the walkout, talks have secured national deals to keep life-saving care ticking over. Critical areas like intensive care, neonatal and paediatric units, major trauma centres, and resuscitation teams will remain operational to protect patients.
Minimum Staff Cover in Place
A select number of RCN members will be drafted in to maintain legal “life-and-limb” cover, ensuring essential services aren’t left stranded amid the strike.
