Special Constable Mason Beall Bags Top Honour
Mason Beall has clocked an incredible 435 hours as a special constable in just a few months, backing up regular cops on the frontline. His dedication earned him a full-time police job last year and now, a prestigious award to boot.
Nottinghamshire Police Crown Their Star
The 20-year-old was crowned Special Constable of the Year at the Nottinghamshire Police Force Awards on April 25. Mason said, “I feel really privileged to have won this award. I didn’t even know I was nominated—I was just doing what I’m passionate about, like all Special Constables.”
From Volunteer to Full-Time Hero
Special constables have the same powers, responsibilities, and uniform as paid officers—but they volunteer part-time. Mason’s gone above and beyond, spending hours patrolling crime hotspots, running crime-prevention initiatives, and engaging with local communities.
On top of 435 hours as a special constable, Mason also completed 97 hours as a cadet leader in 2021/22, helping inspire the next generation.
