British Transport Police (BTP) have launched an appeal to the public for assistance in identifying a man involved in a disturbing assault on a member of shop staff in Victoria, London

Officers have released an image of the individual believed to have crucial information related to the incident.

The incident in question occurred on Wednesday, August 16, at approximately 14.20 BST when an unidentified man entered the Holland and Barrett store located in the Victoria Place shopping centre. As he exited the shop, a vigilant staff member confronted him after discovering a bag of items suspected to be stolen in his possession. In a shocking turn of events, the suspect responded by spraying an unknown substance directly into the face of the courageous staff member before hastily departing the scene.

The victim suffered immediate and severe consequences from the substance, experiencing a painful burning sensation on their skin, eyes, and throat. The nature and composition of the substance remain undisclosed.

BTP officers are now seeking the man depicted in the released image, believing that he may hold crucial information that can advance their ongoing investigation into the assault. Additionally, authorities are appealing to anyone who might have witnessed the incident or possesses pertinent information to come forward and aid in resolving this case.
