Police in Cheltenham are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man in connection with an assault and attempted robbery on the city’s High Street. The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 13, near Kaspa’s Desserts at approximately 5.30pm
According to reports, the victim was approached by two men who proceeded to assault him, hitting him over the head and shouting abusive language. The attackers then pushed the victim to the ground, kicked him, and attempted to steal his phone. They eventually fled in the direction of New Street and Waitrose.
Following the incident, the victim was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital as a precautionary measure. Although one suspect has been apprehended and re-called to prison, the police are now seeking the public’s help in identifying a second man involved.
Extensive investigations have been carried out by the officers involved, but they have been unable to identify the second suspect. As a result, they are urging anyone with information to come forward.
CCTV images of the person of interest have been released, and the public is encouraged to visit the Gloucestershire Police website and complete an online form, quoting incident number 404 of September 13, if they recognise the individual.
