A suspect has been charged with a number of attempted burglaries near Ramsgate – UKNIP

Kent Police received several reports from around 11.45pm on Friday 13 October 2023 that a person had been seen trying the doors to properties in and around Cliffsend. Officers attended the area and an arrest was made.

Also during the same evening, police received a report a handbag and a watch had been stolen from a property in Beech Grove, Cliffsend and a vehicle had been taken from Westbrook Road in Margate.

Josh Plant, 21, of Westbrook Road, Margate, was charged on Sunday 15 October with burglary, assault of a emergency worker, taking a vehicle without consent, seven counts of attempted burglary, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

He appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 16 October and was remanded in custody. The case will next be heard on Monday 13 November at Canterbury Crown Court.
