Kent Police sprang into action late on Friday 13 October after reports flooded in about a prowler trying doors in Cliffsend. By 11.45pm, officers were on the scene and quickly made an arrest.

Thief Hits Cliffsend and Margate

The drama didn’t stop there. That same night, a handbag and watch were reported stolen from a home on Beech Grove, Cliffsend. Meanwhile, a vehicle was stolen from Westbrook Road in Margate.

Suspect Busted and Charged

Josh Plant, 21, from Westbrook Road, Margate, was charged on Sunday 15 October. The list of charges is lengthy and serious: burglary, assaulting an emergency worker, taking a vehicle without consent, seven counts of attempted burglary, driving without insurance, and driving without a licence.

Next Court Date Set

Plant appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 16 October and was remanded in custody. He’s due back in court on Monday 13 November at Canterbury Crown Court to face the charges.
