Stables Blaze in Kent: Man Arrested for Arson and More

Kent Police were called in by Kent Fire and Rescue shortly after 6pm on Sunday, 29 October 2023, following a fire at stables on The Street, Worth. Thankfully, the fire was quickly extinguished with no injuries reported.

Dover Man Charged with Arson and Stalking

Paul Goodwin, 33, from Dover, was arrested and slapped with multiple charges: arson, stalking, a public order offence, and sharing images intended to cause distress. He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 31 October, and was remanded in custody ahead of a future court date.

Police Hunt Silver Vauxhall Astra Linked to Incident

Officers are still digging into the case and want to trace a silver 2004 five-door Vauxhall Astra with a private plate. The suspicious car was spotted near the scene around the time of the fire and might still be nearby.

  • If you saw this vehicle or have dashcam/CCTV footage from the A258 Deal Road, Coventon Lane, or The Street in Worth between 4.30pm and 8.30pm on 29 October, Kent Police want to hear from you.
