A suspect has been charged in connection with an alleged arson near Deal – UKNIP

Kent Police was contacted by Kent Fire and Rescue Service shortly after 6pm on Sunday 29 October 2023, following a fire at a stables in The Street, Worth.

It was extinguished with no injuries reported.

Paul Goodwin, 33, of Dover, was arrested and charged with arson. He was also charged with stalking, a public order offence and sharing images with intent to cause distress.

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 31 October and was remanded in custody to appear in court at a later date.

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident and would like to trace a silver 2004 five-door Vauxhall Astra with a private registration plate, which was seen in the area around that time and may still be parked nearby.

Anyone with information about the car’s location or who has dashcam or CCTV footage from the A258 Deal Road, Coventon Lane or The Street in Worth between 4.30pm and 8.30pm on Sunday 29 October is urged to contact officers.
