Tragedy Strikes on Pentagon Island as Derby Man Dies in Crash
A deadly collision on Sunday night at Pentagon Island claimed the life of 31-year-old Grant Sturgess. Police have charged Fation Koldashi, 30, from Dorset Street, Derby, over the fatal smash.
Fatal Crash Near Derbyshire County Cricket Club
The crash happened around 8pm on November 12, close to the entrance of Derbyshire County Cricket Club. Grant Sturgess died at the scene, leaving the local community in shock.
Man Charged with Causing Death by Careless Driving
Officers arrested Fation Koldashi on Thursday, November 16. He now faces four serious charges:
- Causing death by careless driving
- Failing to stop at the scene
- Failing to report a collision
- Causing death while driving without a licence
Koldashi appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded to prison. He is due back at Derby Crown Court on December 18.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information to come forward and aid the investigation.
