Eight Till Late and Pie & Mash Shut for Three Months After Anti-Social Problems
Crackdown on Troublemakers
The popular Chapel Road spots Eight Till Late and Pie & Mash have been forced to close their doors for three months. This comes after a flood of reports about anti-social behaviour linked to the venues.
Multi-Agency Team Delivers Justice
The Neighbourhood Licensing Team, Adur and Worthing Councils, and West Sussex County Council Trading Standards joined forces to nail the shutdown. The closure was officially approved at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 22 November.
Officials Praise the Win for the Community
Sergeant Jamie Bray said, “We know these stores had a large impact on the community and it is brilliant that the closure order has been put through.” He added, “The team have worked extremely hard to put this before the court. I hope this will benefit the community.”
West Sussex County Councillor Duncan Crow echoed the sentiment: “Trading Standards have been working very closely with partners regarding the ongoing issues at this premises. This is a positive outcome and a good example of working with partners to crack down on illegal activity in Worthing to keep residents safe.”
