Jonathan Majors, an American actor, has been found guilty of assaulting British choreographer, Michaela Coel, in a London court. Majors, who is best known for his roles in films such as ‘Da 5 Bloods’ and ‘Lovecraft Country’, was accused of attacking Coel in a London park in July 2020. The court heard that Majors had punched Coel in the face and kicked her in the stomach, leaving her with a broken nose and other injuries. Majors was sentenced to a 12-month community order and ordered to pay Coel £2,000 in compensation. This incident has raised serious questions about the safety of women in the entertainment industry and the need for greater protection for those who are victims of assault.
