Firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue Service raced to tackle a fierce hedge fire that spread to homes on Grange Road, Tunbridge Wells, in the early hours of New Year’s Day. The cause of the fire remains a mystery as crews fought hard to prevent disaster.
Alarm Raised at 1:50 AM – Rapid Response Saves Homes
The fire was first reported at 1:50 AM, prompting two fire engines to rush to the scene. Flames had leapt from a hedge onto two nearby houses, threatening to cause severe damage.
Using high-pressure hose jets and ventilation fans, firefighters doused the blaze and cleared smoke from the properties, bringing the situation under control within an hour.
