The results of Operation Limit, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating drink and drug driving during the festive season, have been unveiled for Merseyside, revealing a substantial increase in arrests compared to the previous year.
Running from November 20 to January 1, Operation Limit saw Merseyside Police" link="linked" id="84531">Merseyside Police officers making a total of 191 drink driving and a staggering 469 drug driving arrests during the campaign. This marked a significant rise of 123 arrests compared to the previous year. In 2023 alone, Merseyside Police arrested 2,730 drug drivers, averaging 227 arrests per month or 53 per week.
