Essex Police have charged two individuals in connection with a hit-and-run incident that occurred in the car park of Lakeside Shopping Centre on Friday, January 5, 2024. The incident took place close to Coco Asia at around 11:55 pm.

The victim, a man in his twenties, had reportedly been at Puttshack, Lakeside, earlier in the evening, enjoying the company of a friend. They left the venue and were walking across the car park when tragedy struck. The victim was struck by a Silver Vauxhall Corsa, and shockingly, the driver abandoned the scene, leaving the injured man behind.

Brandon Stewart, 23, residing at Hampton Crescent, Gravesend, is charged with Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) with intent and arson with intent to endanger life.

Sophie Kular, 18, also residing at Hampton Crescent, Gravesend, is charged with Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) with intent.
