Man found in river dies in hospital

Police have confirmed a man in his 60s seen in the river in Norwich on Friday morning (January 5) has sadly died. 

Officers were called to reports of a concern for safety in Norwich at 11.19am after a man was seen in the river, Riverside Road, near to the Compleat Angler.  

Police, fire and ambulance were on scene and the man was being treated by paramedics at the scene and has been taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and has since died. 

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
