Vodafone Down: Thousands Hit by UK-Wide Outage
Vodafone, the go-to network for millions of Britons, is battling a major outage this morning. Trouble kicked off just after 6.20am, hitting users across the UK hard, according to Down Detector.
What’s Going Wrong?
The Vodafone team admits some customers are struggling with intermittent issues. A spokesperson told MailOnline: “We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Our team is working hard to fix the issue and hope to have it resolved quickly.”
Down Detector has logged over 3,000 problem reports so far. The breakdown is:
- 56% – Mobile internet failures
- 36% – Mobile phone issues
- 5% – Landline internet problems
Hotspots and Customer Fury
The hardest-hit areas are London, Birmingham, and Manchester. Reports, however, come from all over the country.
Social media is buzzing with angry and frustrated Vodafone users. One Londoner tweeted: “Vodafone in London is down?????!!! No connection at all, stuck on Wi-Fi. Anyone else got this issue??”
Another customer begged: “Is Vodafone down for anyone? Not receiving any texts or calls.”
Vodafone’s Silence Sparks Backlash
Despite being tagged repeatedly, Vodafone has stayed quiet on social media, offering little in the way of public updates.
When pressed, they directed customers to check their network status page. But many found this unhelpful. One user slammed: “It says no network issues in my area, which is a complete lie. I have NO BARS and no data. Only Wi-Fi works. It’s an absolute joke!”
With mobiles down nationwide, Vodafone customers are left desperate for a quick fix to get back online.
