North Shields Blade Murder Shocker: Man Dead, Arrest Made
Tragic Stabbing on Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate
A man has died after a savage stabbing in North Tyneside yesterday morning. At 8.40am, emergency services were called to a property on the Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate in North Shields following reports of a man in distress.
Officers and paramedics found the victim with severe injuries inflicted by a bladed weapon. Despite heroic CPR from bystanders and medical teams, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Victim Named as Andrew Darn
The deceased has been identified as Andrew Darn, 35, from North Shields. His family have been told and are receiving support from specially trained police officers during this heartbreaking time.
Arrest Made and Murder Charge Issued
Northumbria Police launched a Major Incident investigation straight away. A 68-year-old local man was detained on suspicion of murder.
This evening, Alder Willis, 68, from Allanville, Camperdown, North Tyneside, was charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.
Police Urge Public Not to Speculate
The force has warned the public to avoid speculation as the case progresses, to protect the integrity of the trial.
