Motorists are advised to plan ahead as a full overnight closure of the Dartford Crossing bridge is scheduled for maintenance works, commencing tomorrow.
The closure will be implemented from 10pm on Saturday, April 6, through to 5am on Sunday, April 7. During this period, all lanes of the Dartford Crossing bridge will be closed to traffic.
To facilitate the smooth flow of southbound traffic, a contraflow diversion will be in operation via the east-bore tunnel. Meanwhile, the west-bore tunnel will remain open to accommodate northbound journeys.
Additionally, vehicles with a height between 4.8m and 5.0m travelling northbound will be diverted via the M25 clockwise route.
The Dartford Crossing serves as a vital connection point, spanning the River Thames and linking Dartford in Kent to Thurrock in Essex via the A282 road. Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes or adjust their travel schedules accordingly to minimize disruption during the maintenance closure.
Authorities emphasise the importance of adhering to traffic management measures and exercising caution while navigating diversions to ensure the safety of all road users during this period of maintenance activity.
