Woman Found Dead in Car on Whiston Road
Emergency services were scrambled to Whiston Road, E2, at 6.42am on Saturday, 6 April after concerns for a woman’s welfare. Officers found the woman, believed to be in her 20s, unresponsive inside a car parked in an alleyway.
CPR Attempted but Woman Pronounced Dead
Police broke into the vehicle and immediately started CPR, joined shortly by London’s Air Ambulance and ambulance paramedics. Despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Man Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
A man, also in his 20s, was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder. Police believe the pair knew each other, but the exact relationship is still under investigation. The next of kin have been informed, and a post-mortem is set to take place soon.
Police Appeal for Information
A crime scene remains in place as detectives piece together the events leading to the death. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact police on 101, quoting reference CAD 1561/6 Apr. Alternatively, tips can be given anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
