Swift Police Action Leads to Arrest of Suspects in £20k E-Bike Theft

In a swift response to a reported theft of e-bikes worth £20,000 from an address in Winsley, near Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire Police have arrested two suspects following a coordinated operation.

The theft of three e-bikes was reported on 2nd May, with perpetrators using bolt cutters to sever the lock before loading the bikes into a van and fleeing the scene.

Acting promptly, officers from the Wiltshire Police Burglary Team, supported by specialized units, managed to trace the stolen van to Foxhill in Bath. Upon attempting to escape on foot, two suspects were apprehended by law enforcement.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of class A drugs, while a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of class B drugs. Both individuals are currently in police custody.

Detective Inspector Tom Ellerby commended the swift and coordinated efforts of law enforcement, stating, “We are relentless in our determination to bring such offenders to justice.” He further expressed satisfaction in the timely recovery of the stolen property, which was returned to its rightful owner within two hours of the crime being reported.
