Suspect Sought After Assault on Uckfield PCSO

Sussex Police are seeking public assistance after a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) was assaulted in Uckfield town centre. The incident occurred on April 29 at 9.10pm on the High Street.

During a routine patrol, officers observed a cyclist on an electric bike without a helmet or lights. The rider, attempting to evade police, ran a red light. As a Police Constable (PC) and a PCSO on foot tried to apprehend him, the cyclist continued riding, resulting in injuries to the PCSO near the Tesco store.

Although the PCSO was injured, medical attention at a hospital was not necessary.

Police have released a CCTV image of a young male suspect wanted in connection with the incident. The suspect is described as a teenager, wearing a balaclava, a ski mask covering his eyes, a dark coat with a fur-lined hood, light-coloured trousers or jogging bottoms, and dark trainers.

Sussex Police are urging anyone who recognises the individual or has information about the incident to report it online, quoting serial 1330 of 29/04.
