Tesco Urges Shoppers to Dump Sandwich Pickle Over Glass Fear
Tesco has pulled its popular Sandwich Pickle from shelves amid alarm over possible glass contamination. The supermarket giant has launched an urgent recall after tiny shards of glass were spotted in the 295g jars.
Check Your Jar: Batch Code 3254 at Risk
Shoppers who bought the Tesco Sandwich Pickle with batch code 3254 and a best-before date of September 11, 2025, are warned not to eat it. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has flagged the product as a serious health hazard.
“If you have bought the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to any Tesco store for a full refund,” said an FSA spokesperson. “Your health is our priority.”
Tesco Offers Full Refunds with No Receipt Needed
Tesco apologised for the inconvenience and reassured customers refunds will be given even without receipts. Anyone affected can head to their nearest store for a quick return or call Tesco Customer Services on 0800 505 555 for help.
Why Food Recalls Matter
Food recalls happen when products pose a risk to consumers. The FSA issues official notices to alert the public and local authorities about unsafe food items. Sometimes, they even roll out a “Food Alert for Action” directing specific safety measures.
This latest recall puts the spotlight on the vital teamwork between retailers and regulators in keeping your food safe.
