Teen Stabbed in Colchester Chicken Shop Horror
Essex Police were called on Tuesday, 9 January, after a 16-year-old boy suffered serious stab wounds on Queen Street, Colchester. The teen was rushed to hospital and given life-saving treatment. Initially feared life-threatening, he has since made a full recovery.
Knife Attack Caught on CCTV
CCTV footage revealed the victim was involved in a heated argument with two men inside Pepe’s Chicken Shop just before 6:30pm. During the spat, the boy was stabbed multiple times but managed to flee outside to safety.
Two Men Arrested and Charged with Attempted Murder
- Police swiftly identified suspects Kaya Adu, 19, and Rushi Jadeja, 21.
- Both were arrested in Colchester on 13 January.
- They faced charges of attempted murder, with Adu also charged for possession of an offensive weapon in public.
Six Years and Nine Months Behind Bars
At Chelmsford Crown Court on 9 April, the pair admitted grievous bodily harm with intent. Today (4 June), they were sentenced to six years and nine months each. Additionally, Adu must serve three extra years on licence after release.
