Beloved Dad Fatally Stabbed in Peckham Over Electric Bike Dispute
A devastating tragedy struck Peckham last June 25 when 26-year-old Rohan Trotman was fatally stabbed near Nunhead Green on Gordon Road. The shocking motive? A dispute over an electric bike.
Rohan Attacked While Cycling Home from Croydon
Rohan was cycling home on his new electric bike after a trip to Croydon when two attackers struck. He was stabbed multiple times and left bleeding in the street. Despite emergency care, he died in hospital the next day.
19-Year-Old Convicted, Accomplice Still on the Run
Police have convicted Yusuf Kallon, 19, from Marmont Road, Peckham, for Rohan’s murder. The other attacker fled the UK before authorities could arrest him.
Before the stabbing, both men were involved in a violent motorbike robbery in Waterloo. After the murder, Kallon tried to escape to Sierra Leone, making holiday bookings in Spain and obtaining a fast-tracked passport.
Career Criminal Found Guilty Despite Murder Denial
During the trial, Kallon admitted to a criminal past but denied murder. A jury disagreed, convicting him of murder and two counts of robbery on Monday.
“Rohan was not just a victim of a senseless crime; he was a cherished son, partner, and brother,” said Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith. “This conviction provides some closure to a devastated family.”
Rohan’s mother, Debra, thanked police for their tireless work. While nothing eases their grief, the family hopes Kallon’s conviction delivers a measure of justice for their beloved son.
