Southern and Southeastern train services were severely disrupted on Tuesday evening after a person was hit by a train near Beckenham Junction. The incident, which occurred between Herne Hill, Crystal Palace, and Beckenham Junction, led to all lines being blocked for several hours.
An air ambulance was seen landing near Beckenham Junction station, with the main entrance taped off by police as emergency services responded to the situation. The affected train services included Southeastern routes between London Victoria and Orpington, Gillingham, Ashford International, Ramsgate, and Dover Priory, as well as Southern trains between London Bridge and Beckenham Junction.
National Rail advised passengers that all services might be cancelled, delayed, or revised through to the end of the night. Although lines reopened around 9:30 PM, disruptions persisted with many trains still subject to cancellations or delays.
