In a heartbreaking incident, a seven-month-old baby girl lost her life after being bitten by a family pet dog at a residence on Shorncliffe Road. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 3pm on Sunday, responding swiftly alongside ambulance personnel.
The infant sustained severe head injuries from the dog bite and received immediate medical attention from paramedics. Despite their efforts, the young child tragically succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.
The dog involved, which was not classified as a dangerous breed, was promptly removed from the home and humanely euthanised.
