The London Ambulance Service has issued a statement following an incident where a four-year-old child fell from a first-floor balcony in Belvedere. The fall occurred on June 18 at around 8:30 PM on Norman Road, near Yarnton Way.
Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service crews, and an air ambulance, were quickly dispatched to the scene. An ambulance crew, paramedics in fast-response cars, and an incident response officer were among those who responded.
The child received immediate treatment at the scene before being transported to a major trauma centre by road. The injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 8:26 PM on Tuesday, 18 June, to reports of a fall on Norman Road, DA17. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast-response cars, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance. The first of our crews arrived at the scene in five minutes. We treated a child at the scene before taking her to a major trauma centre by road.”
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that no arrests have been made following the incident. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police added: “On Tuesday, 18 June, at 20:30 hrs, police were called to Norman Road, Belvedere, following reports that a child had fallen from a height. Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated a four-year-old child after they had fallen from a first-floor balcony. The child was taken to a nearby hospital where their injuries were confirmed to be non-life-threatening/changing. There were no arrests.”
Residents in the area expressed relief that the child’s injuries were not life-threatening and praised the swift response of the emergency services. The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are ensuring the safety of the child and family involved.
