Serious Collision on A49 in Upper Battlefield

A motorcyclist has been rushed to a major trauma centre after a crash with a car this afternoon in Shrewsbury.

West Midlands Ambulance Service got the call at 12:22 pm about the collision between a car and a motorcycle on the A49 in Upper Battlefield.

Air Ambulance Scrambles to Scene

An ambulance, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with two paramedics quickly arrived at the scene to provide emergency care.

Man Airlifted, Woman Walks Away

The motorcyclist, a man, received trauma care on site for potentially serious injuries. He was then airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital for specialist treatment.

The car driver, a woman, was checked over but didn’t need hospital treatment and was discharged from the scene.

Emergency services continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
