Murder Probe Launched After Paramedic and Woman Found Dead in Cannock

A murder investigation is underway after the bodies of 24-year-old paramedic Daniel Duffield and 22-year-old Lauren Evans were discovered in a house in Hednesford, Cannock on Tuesday afternoon.

Daniel Duffield: Hero Paramedic Remembered

Daniel Duffield was a beloved West Midlands Ambulance Service worker, known to many from his appearance on Channel 4’s documentary series 999: On The Frontline, which follows emergency crews in action.

Ellie, Daniel’s crewmate on the show, expressed deep shock and grief in an emotional Instagram tribute. She called him not only her best friend at work but one of her closest friends overall. Ellie recalled speaking to Daniel just an hour before his death.

“He was the most kind-hearted person who always had time to help others,” Ellie wrote. “I’ll forever cherish the dinner he made me the other week – surprised at how nice his fajitas were.”

Daniel’s sister, Chels Louise, paid tribute on Facebook, describing her brother as a bright soul who tirelessly helped others despite facing his own struggles.

Richard Barratt, senior operations manager at West Midlands Ambulance Service, called Daniel’s death “a great tragedy” and praised his dedication to his patients and colleagues.

Police Probe Expands – Officer Involved

Staffordshire Police have confirmed the identities of both Daniel Duffield from Cannock and Lauren Evans from Bridgend, South Wales, though formal identification awaits.

The case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to recent contact between one of the officers involved and the deceased prior to their deaths.

Detective Superintendent Nicki Addison reassured the community that a specialist team is working tirelessly to unravel the mystery behind the shocking incident.
