Teen Found Dead in Mitcham Common Pond
Tragedy struck Mitcham Common last night as police recovered the body of a teenage boy from Bidder Pond. Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 6.35pm on Wednesday, July 3, but the youngster was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family Supported as Investigation Opens
The teen’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers. Police have confirmed the death is being treated as unexpected, with an investigation now underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking event.
Official Police Statement
“At about 18:35 hrs on Wednesday, 3 July, officers recovered the body of a teenage male from Bidder Pond on Mitcham Common. Sadly, he was confirmed dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. The death is currently being treated as unexpected,” a police spokesperson said.
