Man in Leyton Busted Over Terrorism and Firearm Charges
Robert Adamski, 28, from Leyton, E10, was hit with a string of serious charges late on Wednesday, 17 July. The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command arrested him on suspicion of terrorism offences just days earlier.
What Adamski’s Facing
- Two counts of possession of a component part of a firearm under the Firearms Act 1968
- Two counts of disseminating terrorist publications, breaking the Terrorism Act 2006
- Possession of documents likely useful to someone planning terrorism, contrary to the Terrorism Act 2000
He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 18 July.
Details of the Arrest
On 11 July, Met officers swooped on Adamski in Leyton, detaining him under the Terrorism Act 2000. He was held in custody, with police securing a warrant to keep him detained until 18 July.
On the same day, a woman was also arrested nearby on suspicion of possessing a Section 5 firearm. She has now been released on bail as enquiries continue.
Police Say No Public Threat
Sources confirm the probe is linked to suspected extreme right-wing terrorism. Officers stress there’s no believed threat to the public at this time.
