Two people have been taken to hospital following a serious road traffic collision in Thamesmead. The incident occurred at the junction of Eastern Way and the A2016 on Monday, July 15, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
The London Ambulance Service was alerted at 8:47 PM and quickly dispatched ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance to the scene. The first crew arrived within six minutes of the call.
Upon arrival, the emergency teams treated two individuals at the scene. Both were subsequently transported to major trauma centres, with one patient being rushed to the hospital as a priority due to the severity of their condition.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service provided a statement regarding the incident: “We were called at 8:47 PM on Monday, July 15, to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Eastern Way and A2016, Thamesmead. We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance. The first of our crews arrived in six minutes. Our crews treated two patients at the scene before taking them both to a London major trauma centre, one as a priority.”
