Teenager Fatally Stabbed in Hackney, Murder Investigation Launched

A murder investigation is underway in Hackney after a 15-year-old boy was tragically stabbed to death yesterday afternoon. The incident, which has shocked the community, occurred in Stellman Close, E5, around 4:05 PM on Tuesday, July 23.

Police and emergency services were dispatched to the scene following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found the teenage boy suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite the rapid response and extensive efforts of the paramedics, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, responsible for policing in Hackney, expressed his condolences: “The death of a child is devastating, and my first thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

The local community is reeling from the incident, and authorities are committed to a swift response. Urgent enquiries are underway, and my officers are working diligently to identify the suspects involved in this tragic event,” Conway stated. Residents can expect a significant police presence in the area, along with road closures as investigations continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen, who is leading the inquiry, highlighted the timing and location of the attack: “This happened in a busy area during the day, and there likely were witnesses who saw something crucial. We believe the suspect fled the scene on foot, and we urgently need those who were in or near Stellman Close around the time of the incident to come forward.”

The police are appealing to the public for any information related to the incident. Anyone who noticed suspicious behavior in the area or has any information is urged to contact the police by calling 101, quoting CAD 5387/23Jul. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
