Rapist and Girlfriend Caught Trying to Destroy Evidence by Washing Clothes
Shocking images reveal Aaron Davison, 31, and his girlfriend Sarah Pringle, 29, caught in a desperate bid to cover up his sick crimes. The pair tried to hide evidence of Davison’s brutal attack by washing his clothes after he raped a teenage girl in a Northumberland home in July 2020.
Horrific Attack in Northumberland
Davison climbed into bed with the victim before sexually assaulting and raping her. The terrified teenager told her family, who immediately contacted Northumbria Police. Despite Davison’s denials, an extensive investigation—including forensic evidence—brought charges against him in May 2023.
Partner Tried to Pervert Justice
Police discovered Pringle had washed Davison’s clothing to destroy evidence and gave a false statement to officers to mislead the probe. Both were charged, with Pringle facing perverting the course of justice.
Lengthy Jail Terms for Both
In a Newcastle Crown Court trial this May, Davison was found guilty of rape, sexual assault, and assault by penetration. He was sentenced on Monday to 12 years behind bars and must sign the Sex Offenders Register for life. Pringle received three years for her role in covering up the crimes.
Detective Constable Karen Douglas of Northumbria Police said: “Davison preyed on a teenager in a cold and careless way, subjecting her to the worst ordeal imaginable. He then lied about his crimes, not caring about the long-term effects on her. He is undoubtedly a danger to our wider communities.”
She added, “The victim showed tremendous courage and composure by coming forward, helping us bring this rapist to justice. No one should ever endure this type of assault. Support is always available from our officers, charities, and partner services. If you have been a victim of rape or sexual assault, please know we are here to help.”
