Triple Shooting Shocks Orpington: Three Boys Injured
Police remain on the hunt for suspects after a triple shooting in Orpington left three boys wounded. The terrifying incident happened around 10pm on August 7. Officers rushed to Otlinge Road following reports of a gunshot victim.
Victims Hospitalised with Non-Life-Threatening Injuries
Emergency crews treated an 18-year-old boy at the scene before taking him to hospital. His injuries were confirmed as non-life-threatening. Later, police established the shooting actually occurred at nearby Yalding Grove, where two 14-year-old boys were found with gunshot wounds. Both were also taken to hospital, thankfully not in critical condition.
A crime scene has been set up as police continue digging for clues but have yet to identify a suspect.

Police have voiced serious concerns about false information swirling online after the shooting. A Lewisham Police spokesperson warned against social media posts that stoke division or panic. “We all have a responsibility to challenge misinformation online. There is no place for comments that create division and fuel tensions,” they said.

Detective Inspector Raymond Sekalongo from Trident vowed that tackling violent crime and reducing shootings is a top priority. “We understand the community’s concern and are conducting fast-time inquiries to catch any suspects,” he said. Officers remain visible in the area to support residents and address worries.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed all three victims are expected to recover with non-life-threatening injuries.
