A man has been arrested following a disturbance at a pub in Leysdown-on-Sea, which led to a dramatic police pursuit spanning more than 30 miles.
Kent Police responded to reports of damage at a pub on Leysdown Road at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, 23 August 2024. A suspect left the scene in a van, prompting a swift response from officers who quickly located the vehicle.
Despite police requests for the driver to stop, the van continued driving, leading to a pursuit that involved patrol cars and assistance from the police helicopter. The chase eventually came to an end on the A2 near Brenley Corner after officers deployed a stinger device to stop the vehicle.
A 38-year-old man from Chatham was arrested on suspicion of multiple driving offences and criminal damage. He has since been bailed until 21 November as the investigation continues.
Kent Police are continuing their enquiries into the incident, and anyone with information is urged to contact them.
