Bromley and Bexley Courts Crack Down on Violence and Knives
Several offenders faced justice at Bromley and Bexley Magistrates’ Courts on September 18. Charges ranged from assault to knife possession and public disorder.
Violent Assaults and Threats Land Suspended Jail and Prison Time
- Curtis Turner, 41, from Eltham, admitted assaulting a woman and vandalising her property in July. He also threatened to smash windows at her pub and caused public disorder. Turner got a four-month prison sentence, suspended for a year, plus 40 hours of unpaid work and 15 days of rehab.
- Paul Penfold, 58, homeless, pleaded guilty to beating a woman on Lewisham High Street on September 17. He received 12 weeks behind bars.
Repeat Knife Offender Sent to Jail
- Uchenna Nwabuisi, 23, of Thamesmead, was caught with a lock knife on September 17. A known offender with prior knife convictions, he was jailed for 146 days due to the severity of the crime.
