Young Woman Killed in Brixton Hit-and-Run After Police Chase
Car Flees Police Before Fatal Collision
A 20-year-old woman was tragically killed after being hit by a car that refused to stop for police on Brixton Hill.
At around 9.47pm on Wednesday 19 January, officers signalled for a vehicle to stop, but it sped off instead. Moments later, the fleeing car struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene.
Driver Abandons Car, Police Hunt Occupants
The abandoned vehicle was found nearby, but the driver and any passengers remain at large. Police are urgently trying to track down those involved.
Tragedy in Brixton – Family Being Informed
The young woman died at the scene. Officers are currently informing her next of kin. The Directorate of Professional Standards has also been notified as part of routine procedure.
